Program Information
Jump-start your plant identification skills during this botany-focused workshop. Participants will learn to recognize frequently-seen native plants, get useful tips to identify plant families, and go on a guided plant walk. This workshop has indoor and outdoor components. Registration required as there is limited space.
Instructor Information
John Brush is the urban ecologist for the City of McAllen. He has been learning to identify Rio Grande Valley native plants for over a decade. John has his MSc in Biology from UT Rio Grande Valley, where he took every plant-related science class he could. He often spends his spare time with plants, either trying to grow them or otherwise enjoying their company.
